Since most of you insisted that I review the products from my Ulta haul, here I am earlier than intended 😛 with the eyeshadow palette from the Kardashian sisters 🙂 Their beauty line is called Kardashian beauty and I have the Touch tones Gradient Eyeshadow palette in the shade Echo. When I bought this palette, they had only 3 variants, apparently they now have added 2 more. How cool is that! And the shade range is gorgeous.
Kardashian Beauty Touch Tones Gradient Eyeshadow is an eye color kit you will use with great frequency since it transmits mega-style options. This Eye Kit includes a stripe of separated, but blendable eyeshadows in three colors and a highlighter. Select the color tones you like and decide what tone you want simply by your application technique. Every tone coordinates, so there are no wrong decisions to worry about! Long lasting, buildable formulas mean Touch Tones don’t require touch ups!

What I think
The Kardashian Beauty Touch Tones Gradient Eyeshadow comes in a slim cream rectangular plastic pan with a transparent plastic lid. The packaging mentions all the ingredients. It comes with a double ended shadow applicator which is quite handy for packing some color but I hardly ever use it. The lid shuts tight and is travel friendly. However the top doesn’t look tough enough to survive a fall, so you need to be careful. For a $10 palette, I think the packaging could have been better.
Shades & Textures
The palette has 8 eyeshadow shades – 2 Matte shades, 5 Satiny shades and 1 Glittery shade. The matte shades are smooth and can be used for defining brow contours. These however won’t work on deeper skin tones. The Satiny shades are quite pigmented and smooth in texture but not buttery smooth (like Coastal Scents or Urban Decay ones). Even though these have a satin finish, they do have some shimmer packed in and are prone to minor fallout. The last shade is more of an add-on sparkle shadow like pigments to give some depth to the lids. Since it’s packed with glitter, there is a bit of fallout with this one too.
The palette offers shades with good pigmentation, however the lighter satiny shades (From L-R: Shade nos 3 & 4) needs some layering up. The darker shades are packed with pigment and you get good color pay off. They are easily blendable. Without a primer underneath, these begin to crease or fade after about 4 hours of wear. May crease much earlier on oily lids. I would have preferred an additional mid tone crease shade for blending. But then since its not a universal all in one palette, that can be overlooked.
To sum it up, I like this palette but don’t love it. The quality could have been better since it’s the Kardashian line.
- Excellent array of textures – Matte, Satin & Glitter
- Good spectrum of colors
- Good pigmentation
- Smooth texture
- Easily blendable
- Prone to fallout
- Without primer, wears for about 4 hours only (lesser on oily lids)
- Packaging could have been better
For the price, I feel the palette need some more work. If you get it on 50% off, then it’s definitely worth a shot.
