Hi Guys,
Eye creams are something most of us must have tried at some point in time. With the busy schedules in our lives and resultant haphazard sleeping patterns we are sadly quite familiar with under eye dark circles and puffiness. Today I am going to review an under eye cream from Just Herbs. It is the Just Herbs I’Brite Almond-Green tea nourishing under eye cream. Just herbs brand takes an organic Ayurvedic result oriented approach to skin care which was the key motivator for me to invest in this product.
Product Description
A firming and moisturizing under eye cream, this magical wonder from Just Herbs makes the blood stream oxygen rich, improves the capillary permeability, refreshes tired, puffy eyes, lightens dark circles and plumps up the delicate skin around the eyes. With the right blend of green tea extracts and natural antioxidants, this one ensures your peepers shine bright! For best results, apply at night and massage with feather touch circular strokes.
- Contains certified organic cold-pressed almond oil
- Free from petrochemicals, parabens, SLS/SLES PEG/PPG, Genetically modified ingredients(GMO) and other synthetic ingredients

What I think
Packaging
The product comes in a transparent plastic tub with a metallic bronzy-gold screw on lid. The packaging has the product name, ingredients list and directions for use mentioned on it. As always I’m not a big fan of tub packaging but then Just Herbs products usually come in a tub or bottle.

Texture
The cream has a thick consistency with a slight oily feel to it. I would attribute the oiliness to the almond content. It is very hydrating and spreads on easily but takes a good couple of strokes to get completely absorbed. I apply this before going to bed once I am all done with my night time skin care routine. Once absorbed, the eye area appears a little oily depending on how well it has been massaged into. As directed, once I feel that it has been sufficiently absorbed into skin, I take a wet cotton pad and wipe over the eye area and the oiliness clears off.

Fragrance
The product fails big time on this factor. It has a pungent medicinal smell which is quite unpleasant for a night eye cream. Even after wiping the product off, the smell lingers for a while.
Worth factor
With just a few uses, I could see my eye area looked supple however even after diligently using it for more than a month; I did not get any reprieve from my dark circles. It did not do any lightening as claimed. However even with the obvious oily base, it did not cause any breakouts for me.
I am very disappointed with the product since even after powering through the cream for about 2 months not to mention withstanding the unappealing smell; it didn’t do any visible lightening for my dark circles. I am definitely not writing off the brand as it has some impressive line of face packs and I really want to try them. This product just missed the mark.
Pros
- Hydrating formula
- Hypoallergenic
- Chemical free formulation
- Eyes appear healthy and supple
- Small amount of product will suffice
- Easily available online
Cons
- Tub packaging
- Difficult to get absorbed
- Quite oily
- Doesn’t work on dark circles
- Expensive
- Strong medicinal odour
Recommendation
Not recommended! If you are looking for an eye cream that works on dark circles, then this is not the one for you. Healthy and supple eyes can be achieved through cold pressed almond oil alone. A good under eye cream is supposed to work on dark circles to some extent and as its supposed to be used before bed time, a fragrance free or mild fragrance formula is acceptable. This product fails on both those points.
