Today I have a beautiful neutral lipstick here on the blog from a new and exciting brand for me. It is the Bareminerals cosmetic line from Bare Escentuals. I picked it up randomly during one of my “just looking, I am not buying any more lipsticks” phase. Bareminerals makeup line is perfectly skin friendly from their ingredients perspective. Their base products are pretty good and I am planning to try it out. More on that later.
Make an impact with rich color that glides on like butter to make lips look fuller and more voluptuous. An infusion of minerals revitalizes lips for a healthy-looking pout, while a moisture-loaded hydrating complex helps to nourish and condition with Abyssinian oil and omega fatty acids for supple, baby-soft smoothness. All the while, an encapsulated vitamin A, C, and E complex helps to deliver antioxidant defense, so you’re ready for anything and everything.
What it is formulated without
Bare Escentuals uses only the finest ingredients in their formulas. Their commitment to quality led to the creation of their award-winning makeup line, bareMinerals. Free of preservatives, fillers, or binders, bareMinerals represents the ideal mix of makeup and skincare—problem-solving cosmetics that perfect and pamper.

What I think
The bareminerals marvelous moxie lipsticks come in a sturdy lacquered black metal casing with bareminerals font in white along the cap body. The lipstick cap has a silver button which when slid vertically down releases the bullet portion. To secure the cap, you need to slide the bullet portion back inside the cap till you hear a click. I find this packaging absolutely marvelous (did that intentionally btw :P) No fear of any lipstick mishap in your bag. This mechanism is unlike any I have ever seen or owned and I’m hooked. The lipstick comes with the shade name printed on a color coded sticker that makes picking up shades a breeze if you own more than one. To say the least, packaging deserves a 10/10.
It has a creamy formula that applies soft and smooth. It glides on without any tugging. It feels very light and comfortable on the lips. However here is the deal – the lipstick is packed with hydrating agents but after about 4 hours of wear, I feel my lips are parched and needs a boost of moisturization.
It smells like mint – just a subtle understated hint of mint. There is no tingling at all.
Make your move is an absolutely gorgeous mid tone nude shade with pink and slight brown undertones that settles into a satin finish. It has teeny-tiny golden micro (nano???) shimmers that are not obvious at all. You would find it if you look really close at the lipstick bullet. On the lips, it just gets diffused and adds a subtle pearly shine. It is saturated with pigment and provides full coverage in two swipes. For heavily pigmented lips, you might need additional layering. I think this shade will look different on different skin tones. It appears as a peachy-pink shade on my lips. I have seen swatches online where in it appears as a neutral brown on medium-deep skin tones.
Staying power of the lipstick is splendid. I get a full wear time of about 5+ hours. It stays intact for about 4 hours after which it begins to fade evenly and settles into a light stain for another 2 hours. There is no feathering or bleeding of the product. Since it’s creamy in texture, it is susceptible to mild transfer with light snacking – nothing over the top though. Again this might be since it’s a neutral shade. I guess darker shades from the range like fuchsia and reds might transfer a bit more. This lipstick does deliver in its claim of a “healthy looking pout” as my lips appear fuller, plump when I have this on. Only thing I find lacking is hydration as it wears off and it’s a pity since this claims to have ingredients that provide moisturization. Availability is a big issue in India but I do hope Sephora starts stocking these babies up.
Overall, I really love the Bareminerals marvelous moxie range and will definitely pick up a few more shades. I am eyeing Get Ready – rosy pink shade and my favorite kind of pink Risk It All.

Definitely worth trying!! Marvelous moxie range comes in 18 spectacular shades with pinks, reds, mauves and nudes and offers top notch color, lasting power and quality. These are priced similar to MAC lipsticks but in a much more luxurious packaging. If you are bored with MAC, then this is definitely a brand to indulge in. Burns your pocket just like MAC does so you don’t feel as guilty. At least that is what I say to myself!
