Hi Guys,
I am back with another The Body Shop product and this time it is a shower gel from the Satsuma range. This is a permanent TBS range so rest assured you could pick it up anytime. Read onto know if it’s worth checking out.
Product Description
Create a zesty, invigorating shower experience! This refreshing, cleansing gel uses Satsuma peel essential oil to provide a natural citrus fragrance. The Satsuma Shower Gel is enriched with Community Fair Trade Organic Soya Oil from Brazil to repair the skin’s moisture barrier, thus helping to restore smoothness and suppleness. The soap-free, lather-rich formula is less drying to the skin than soap. Complete your shower routine by exfoliating with the Satsuma Body Polish and moisturizing with the Satsuma Body Butter.
- Soap-free
- Refreshing citrus scent
- Ideal for everyday use
- Suitable for all skin types
Price 425 INR for 250 ml
What I think
Packaging
The Body Shop Satsuma shower gel comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a flip open cap. The cap is adequately tight to prevent accidental spillage. Slight pressure on the bottle is enough to squeeze out the right amount of gel. Overall the packaging is quite efficient in a no nonsense way. Though size of the bottle makes it unfit to carry in your handbag, you could totally pack it in the luggage or carryall.

Texture & Fragrance
The consistency of the shower gel is neither too thick nor too runny. It has the correct balance that easily works with water to lather really well. The formula is not SLS free. So suffice to say, with a loofah you could create a good amount of foam/lather. Personally I am not much into fruity scents and randomly picked up this range for a change from the usual chocolate, cocoa etc. It is burnt orange in color and smells of oranges without being overly sweet which I really like. I am absolutely happy about it as it delivers a citrus feast to the senses. The smell doesn’t linger much on the skin post bath – such a bummer but my bath smells like it had a citrus explosion for about a day!!!

Worth Factor
I love TBS products and this no secret. I did not think I will love the Satsuma shower gel but boy was I wrong!! It is the perfect product for summer. The fragrance is potent enough to calm and refresh the senses. Two squeezes on a loofah and you are good to go. This makes the product definitely worth the price and it lasts for a really long time. It cleanses the skin really well and imparts ample softness – thanks to Glycerin that moisturizes the skin and Community trade organic soya oil that repairs skin. It is still prudent to moisturize skin post bath. It does not make the skin dry (I have normal to dry skin on my body). I wish the scent lingered for a while but suffice to say it is my “pick me up” bath product and I would definitely come back for more.

Pros
- Refreshing & invigorating fragrance
- Lathers really well
- Non drying formula
- Cleanses skin well
- Adds softness
- Quantity justifies the price
- Lasts for really long
- Easily available at TBS counters & online
Cons
None
Recommendation
Highly recommended! This is a must try from The Body Shop. Being a non fruity person, this has changed my opinion and that is saying something. If you love calm and refreshing fragrances, then definitely give this a shot. You won’t be disappointed.
