Hi Guys,
I have been meaning to share this super amazing home made face mask with you all since a few weeks. I was putting this off basically because I did not get around to clicking the pictures. Finally over the weekend, I treated myself to this mask after quite a long time and got around to some clicking. The mask in question contains 3 main ingredients – honey, cinnamon and nutmeg. I call this the multi-tasker mask 😛
It obviously does a bucket load of things for your skin. Honey is a natural anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and moisturizer. Its anti oxidant property helps in fighting skin aging – maintaining skin’s elasticity, reducing wrinkles. As an anti-bacterial it works wonders for acne prone skin – unclogs pores, soothes irritated skin, clarifies and reduces blemishes. As a moisturizer, it makes skin extremely soft giving a lovely radiant glow.
Nutmeg improves skin smoothness and helps maintain healthy skin in the long run. Many of the natural beauty products use nutmeg oil as their key ingredient. It also works tremendously in clearing up blackheads. Like honey, nutmeg too has anti bacterial and anti inflammatory properties.
Cinnamon though extensively used in the kitchen does work as an excellent anti-septic and anti bacterial treatment for skin. Just like honey and nutmeg, cinnamon boosts skin health – adds plumpness and smoothness. It also works wonders in clearing up acne and skin irritations.
When honey is combined with nutmeg and cinnamon, it makes a great concotion that works to clear up acne, zits, fine lines, skin irritations, redness, sebum etc. With regular use, this works on skin blemishes and scars lightening them significantly.
Method
Mix 2 tablespoons of honey (preferably organic) with 1 tsp each of cinnamon and nutmeg. Just beat the mixture with a spoon till you get the products mixed well. No need to add any water. The mixture will have a thin to slightly thicker consistency which is perfect. I do add about 2-3 drops of lemon juice to this mixture. Lemon being a natural chemical exfoliator and bleaching agent helps in improving overall skin texture and also does significant lightening of skin tone. Apply the mask and leave it on for 30-40 minutes. You may massage the skin in circular motions while applying. Wash it off with warm water.

Try this mask thrice a week and let me know guys 🙂
Great post! Way back I used to add nutmeg powder in milk and apply to acne marks, it helps in reducing them. Will try this as a weekend skin treat, thanks for sharing!
