Lush Cosmetic Warrior Fresh Face Mask

Hi Guys,
Today I am reviewing another face mask from Lush. It is the Lush Cosmetic Warrior Fresh Face Mask.

Product Description

Soothing and deep cleansing blend for break-out prone skin
Spots! Oily areas! Blackheads! The frustration of having breakout prone skin can incite aggressive, ‘industrial’ type cleaning. Unfortunately, breakout prone skin is often very sensitive, so using harsh cleansers can actually make the problem worse. Don’t over attack your skin; lead it firmly down the path to salvation with Cosmetic Warrior. Cosmetic Warrior is kind to problem-laden faces thanks to moisturizing egg whites and honey, which smooth and tighten the pores, and cleansing garlic and tea tree oil for a fresh, clear, happy face.

Price   $10.95 for 2.1 oz (approx 60g)

What I think

Lush Cosmetic Warrior fresh face mask comes in the classic matte black tub packaging with a screw on lid. The mask has a thick texture with quite a few tiny chopped garlic pieces thrown in there. The mask is high on clay content and you can definitely feel that when you scoop up a bit and start spreading on the skin. It is very cooling and soothing on the skin. The thick texture of the mask causes it to take much amount of time to dry. I usually get a nice thick layer on, so in the suggested 5-10 minutes it doesn’t dry up (Lush doesn’t recommend it to dry either) completely but the ingredients in there with the kaolin works its magic in soothing the breakouts and adding ample softness to the skin. It is not all drying on the skin. Once the mask is washed off, it reveals glowing, smooth and soft skin. It definitely dries up small zits but those angry red cystic acnes don’t surrender much. However they do appear less red. The mask with its set of ingredients is definitely not topping the best fragrance chart. Eggs and garlic dominate the olfactory senses so might not be everyone’s cup of tea. With regular use, the mask helps in healing breakout ridden skin. It does not do full blown magic on acnes but does calm them. You definitely need other acne fighting products in your stash. But this mask does help in preventing future breakouts from popping up (except those caused by hormonal imbalance) if you make it a permanent part of your skin care arsenal, I am talking from experience. Lush SA recommended to use the mask every alternate day and even though after finishing up one tub, my skin was not blemish free, it was definitely way better than what it was at the beginning. Lush website mentions about this mask working against blackheads but since I don’t have them, I cannot comment on that aspect.
Overall I really love the Lush Cosmetic Warrior fresh face mask and it has been a permanent fixture in my routine. The mask contains eggs, honey, garlic and tea tree oil – the mixture sounds definitely like something straight out of my Grandma’s secret skin care products. Eggs help in tightening your pores and being high on collagen are naturally efficient in fighting skin ageing. Honey as a softening agent, garlic & tea tree oil as the eternal skin problem fighting ingredients makes this mask unique.
