Benefit Its Potent Eye Cream
Hi Guys,
Today I am reviewing the Benefit Its Potent Eye cream. I have used and discarded lots of eye creams in the past. Some like the Aroma magic almond eye cream has found a permanent place in my stash but still I am on the lookout for that eye cream that is an all-rounder. I picked up Benefit’s eye cream a few months back and used it diligently for 2 months and then kept going back to it now and then. So here is my take on this product.
Product Description
Your eyes can’t keep a secret…they’re the first to show signs of age & stress. It’s potent! eye cream fades dark circles & helps smooth fine lines for brighter, younger-looking eyes. Contains a peptide complex known to help restore elasticity & firmness, a blend of hydrating botanical extracts and loquat extract, known to help protect the skin from free radical damage.
- Moisturizing
- Pairs perfectly with concealer
- Great for daily use

What I think
Benefit Its Potent Eye cream comes in a transparent green hued glass jar with a faux cork screw on lid and a plastic lid to cover the jar mouth. Aesthetically the jar is cute and very vintage looking – something that looks quite beautiful on the vanity counter top. But hygienically, the tub packaging fails big time. You can always use a sanitized spatula for scooping the product out by let’s get real. Ain’t nobody got the time J
The cream has a thick emollient texture but is surprisingly lightweight. It is fairly hydrating and absorbs super-fast into the skin. Those with dry under eyes would require something more rich. I apply this before going to bed once I am all done with my night time skin care routine. Once absorbed, the eye area appears smooth and supple. I have also used this cream in the AM before applying makeup and my concealer goes on pretty smooth. It doesn’t crease at all. This cream doesn’t have any fragrance which is a big plus for an eye cream.
Within the first 3 weeks use, I could see the area around my eyes had lightened marginally. It however did not do anything for the lines. They are still camping there and doesn’t seem to want to budge a bit :/ Though it did work on reducing the darkness in the under eye area to some extent, it hasn’t been a fool proof product. Considering the facts that you don’t change your sleeping habits and/or your diet there is no reprieve from dark circles unless the eye cream has some breakthrough technology that would bypass these- I am still waiting for that one product. I have heard from a few bloggers here and a few SA’s in Sephora that those with sensitive under eye area have had bad reaction with this eye cream. Fortunately I did not face any issues. So if you are planning on investing in this product, sensitive eyes or not, try a sample before buying since it isn’t cheap. From my experience I would say this eye cream will be best suited for those in the 20-25 age range with normal to oily skin where under eye pigmentation is your concern. Although a way better cost effective option in that case would be the Aroma magic eye cream. Those with aging skin should pass this since it doesn’t do anything for lines or wrinkles.
Overall, I like the benefit its potent eye cream but since both dark under eye circles and lines are my concern, I wouldn’t be repurchasing this one.

Recommendation
If you are 20+ something beauties looking for an eye cream targeted at dark circles only, then you could try this puppy but it is not a game changer. It does reduce the dark circles to some extent. Those with mature skin should skip this.
