The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter
Today I am reviewing The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter. I am a certified lip balm hoarder. You will find lip balms in every corner at my home. I literally carry around 3-4 lip balms in my bag. Of all the lip balms I have tried till date, my absolute favorite lip balm that focuses on healing and moisturizing lips is the Burt’s Bees lip balm. I love that stuff!!
This buttery lip moisturizer melts onto the lips for instant hydration. It contains zesty pink grapefruit seed oil.
- Instant hydration
- Buttery texture
- Leaves lips feeling soft and smooth

What I think
The packaging is typical to that of the TBS body butters scaled down in size ofcourse. The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter comes in an opaque pale pink plastic tub with a screw on lid. Hygiene factor aside, the tub is compact and easy to use. The product is pale peach in color and has a very buttery – moderately thick consistency. This is definitely a heavier lip care product. It has an intense tangy and citrusy fragrance which might not find favor with everyone. The rich texture makes it ideal to be used as an overnight lip treatment. On normal as well as very dry lips, this takes forever to absorb so using it under your lipstick is not a great idea. A creamy lipstick tends to bleed faster whereas a matte formula just looks tacky on top of this butter. On its own, it adds a soft sheen to the lips without any color. Lips look healthy and nourished. However I don’t see it doing any “repair”. I have used it on chapped and tender peeling lips without any relief. I feel it doesn’t penetrate much into the lips and work from inside. That is something we definitely need for chapped and dried lips.
Overall The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter is an ok lip care product if you have normal lips. This butter maintains the “existing” state of your lips. I myself use it on and off during the summers as a nightly treatment.
- Buttery texture
- Adds a soft sheen to lips
- Leaves lips looking healthy
- Ideal for normal lips
- Available easily
- Doesn’t heal lips
- Doesn’t get absorbed well
- Not as moisturizing as claimed
- Might be too fragrant for some
If you are someone with no lip issues and have normal lips, you can try this butter out for maintaining the current state of your lips. However if you are looking at a lip treatment focusing on hydration, healing and overall lip nourishment, this is not for you.
