Avon Ultra Color Lipstick Hibiscus – Review
The Ultra color Avon lipstick comes in a robust classy black casing with a transparent cap head. This makes it quite easy to locate shades as the traditional color-coded label is not available at the bottom. The lipstick formula is very creamy and soft. It is light weight and is not at all sticky. It is very moisturizing on the lips and therefore there is no need of a balm underneath. It glides on smoothly without any tugging. The lipstick has a vanilla scent to it that isn’t over-powering at all. The shade Hibiscus is a beautiful bright pink shade with slight blue undertones. It applies semi-sheer giving a slightly glossy finish. The formula is sheer and not something that would look good if layered on as it can get tacky. Suffice to say it won’t necessarily cover pigmented lips completely. This shade would predominantly suit fair to medium skin tones. It may end up washing out deeper skin tones. Staying power of the lipstick is about 2.5 – 3 hrs with light meals in between after which it fades to a light pink hue on the lips. I had observed slight bleeding of the lipstick owing to its buttery texture. Using a lip liner would solve this issue. To sum it up, I really like this shade and formula. I just wish it was little more pigmented.
- Trendy packaging
- Very moisturizing
- Applies evenly and smoothly
- Non-irritating fragrance
- Contains SPF
- Prone to slight feathering owing to creamy formula
- Could have better pigmentation
- Available through Avon representatives only
If you can look past the slight feathering issue which is common for creamier lipsticks and the lack in opaque pigmentation atleast where this shade is concerned, the Ultra Color range is definitely worth checking out
